In collaboration with the Mississippi Department of Agriculture and Commerce (MDAC), First South Farm Credit helped expand the Genuine MS® program, contributing to the addition of 44 new members just this spring, an increase of nearly 25%. Removing Barriers for Mississippi Farmers & Entrepreneurs
This initiative was designed to improve access and create new opportunities for participation in the Genuine MS® program.
First South Farm Credit covered the cost of one-year memberships to Genuine MS®, removing a financial barrier for producers, artisans, and entrepreneurs in the state. By making the program more accessible, the partnership allowed more businesses to take advantage of tools designed to market products grown, raised, and made locally in Mississippi.
Through this effort, participants were able to connect more easily with Mississippi’s agricultural network. It allowed the opportunity to reach more customers across the state and access statewide promotional options. All these benefits help new entrepreneurs the ability to strengthen their business or product’s identity.
